Legal Priority

Administrative and legal processes seem to take too long due to the high demand. However, there are cases that the Law allows to have priority at those proceedings conduct. Cancer patients with 65 years old or more are entitled to this priority, besides the preferential assistance of a public defender and unpaid judicial assistance.

This request shall be made by the licensed attorney at the lawsuit, proving the disease with tests and medical report. In case of procedures at special courts that does not require an attorney, the patient him/herself can request this priority presenting all proves or their ID, in case they are older than 60 years.

The patient is also entitled at this priority at the income tax reimbursement, following the same priority rule.
