Can Oncology Patients Take Vaccines?

Many cancer patients are apprehensive when there are cases of diseases such as yellow fever and, more recently, measles. The main question is regarding the vaccine, whether it can be taken or needed if a specific recommendation.

According to MD. Gilberto Amorim, Oncologist of Rede D'or and scientific advisor to the Laço Rosa Foundation, there is no general recommendation, a rule, since each patient is in a specific situation. It is necessary to analyze the type of treatment that is being performed, the physical health of the patient, in addition to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

So before taking any vaccine, it is necessary for the cancer patient to consult their medical team to authorize the vaccination.
